Keep each line only once. Great for cleaning up lists, keywords and name lists.
When to use it
- Remove duplicate emails or names from a list
- Make a keyword/tag list unique
- De-dupe URLs or log lines
Is the order kept?
With sort off, the first occurrence order is preserved. With sort on, lines are sorted alphabetically.
